Get involved

Following the Coppermill Area perception survey earlier this year, we want to gather some more detailed views from residents, so this month we are hosting a range of events and putting in place some methods for you to share more specific views on various locations.

Community signs

From the perception survey we have identified a number of areas where residents have requested changes and improvements. In order to gather more detailed suggestions on seven areas, this week we have installed signs where residents and visitors to the area can share their views on how they would like to see that location improved. Ideas could be anything including new lighting, more seating or better transport infrastructure – please be creative. The signs will be on site for the next two weeks and we will be monitored by the council daily.

Pop ups events

This week we will also be at some of these sites meeting with residents and visitors to have a conversation about what improvements could be introduced.

  • On Thursday 8 November we will be outside Coppermill School, in Edward Road, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
  • On Friday 9 November we will be at the Essex Road and Salop Road community garden from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
  • On Saturday 10 November we will be at the Walthamstow Wetlands, outside the engine house, from 10am to 1pm.
  • Please come along and have a chat with the team. We will also be hosting a special meeting with local businesses at The Mill later this month, invitations will be sent out to businesses shortly.

Would you like to do travel diary?

We are looking for people to take part in a travel diary over the coming four years as the Coppermill area improvements are implemented and completed. We are looking for people with various viewpoints and methods of travelling around. If you are interested in participating please fill out this registration survey and we’ll be in touch shortly.
